Major Responsibilities:
The Application Support Specialist is responsible for supporting specified applications in IT environment.
The Application Support Specialist provides 1st and 2nd level support in incident management to bank staff giving answers and resolution to software applications and other requests for service. The Application Support Specialist will assist in providing a root cause analysis as part of problem management.
The Application Support Specialist performs the authorized work after approval by business owner of the respective service. The Application Support Specialist is responsible for updating service support documentation as well as conducting training sessions for the service desk team and key users. For IT configuration changes he/she conducts module and integration testing. The Application Support Specialist's expertise can be used to support project work.
Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities knowledge that may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on applicable regulattory changes. Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual required or job-specific training. Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words. Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate. Basic Qualifications:
Detailed understanding on applications as well as their business uses
Experience with business logic according to the application
Knowledge on IT architecture and solution design
General understanding of ITIL and process definition
Programming and customizing experience
Training and documentation skills
Basic knowledge of Microsoft tools (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
Excellent customer service skills
Must display professionalism and confidence
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
Proven ability to work independently and as a team member.
Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
Articulate with the ability to communicate clearly, ask questions, develops an informed point of view, and obtain consensus
